Insight Into the Future
The current reality of the nonprofit sector is one of great challenge and opportunity. The opportunity comes as a result of squarely facing the rapidly manifesting challenges we live daily in the 21st century. The world we now live in offers nonprofit organizations an invitation to lead with integrity, accountability, and grace. Doing so builds foundations of trust and transparency within organizations, which demonstrates stewardship that has strength and merit.
Each moment we are continuously barraged with numerous choices and each choice bears one or more consequences, both seen and un-foreseen. Some of these choices and their respective consequences unfold beautifully, while others result in chaos and uncertainty. In order to be good stewards managing nonprofit organizations for public good, it is important to practice being good stewards in our individual lives. This means holding our selves accountable for each decision we make and the resulting impact of that decision. Being responsible in this way grounds us, and it is from this grounded place where we may lead with integrity and grace.
Into the future is an elusive destination never within our reach, only within our imagination. Planning for this destination presents unique tests of faith and fortitude. Although it may appear overwhelming it is made manageable by being present in each step during the process. Presence opens our eyes to possibilities and opportunities that may be overlooked if our thoughts wander ahead. Remaining grounded today is the portal to enter the elusive nature of what lies ahead.
